Flipkart Big Freedom Sale vs Amazon Great Indian Sale



Biggest online market Amazon India and Flipkart are hosting the Great Indian Sale and Big Freedom Day Sale, respectively. Both the e-commerce sites are offering discounts and deals in various categories, including the smartphone. The sale kicked off on August 9 and will end tomorrow midnight, i.e August 11. Both Amazon and Flipkart are offering some decent deals, but none of them are particularly good. Most phones are available on exchange offer, while handsets that get a price cut are too old to be part of a wow offer. But that said, if you are looking to buy a smartphone the sale on Flipkart and Amazon also means that you may end up getting the device you were eyeing cheaper. Even some sale is better than no sale. 
While Flipkart is offering HDFC Bank debit and credit card holders 10 per cent instant discount on buying any product across categories. However, the offer is valid on a minimum purchase of Rs 3,000. Also, this is limited to the duration of the Big Freedom Day Sale only. While Amazon is offering additional cashback of up to 15 per cent State Bank of India debit and credit card users.
Both Amazon India and Flipkart are offering discounts on iPhones, Google Pixel, and also on some Moto, Xiaomi, Samsung and Lenovo phones. Find out which one out of Amazon and Flipkart is offering better deals on phones.

Discounts on iPhones

Amazon and Flipkart are offering discounts on iPhones. Flipkart is offering Apple's iPhone 6 -- Space Grey + 32GB model -- in an exchange offer of Rs 15,600 http://fkrt.it/t1JTQ!NNNN. There's also a flat price cut of Rs 5,501 on the iPhone 6. So, after applying the discounts, the iPhone 6 is available at a price as low as 23,999 on Flipkart. While, Amazon India is also offering the same variant of iPhone 6 in an exchange offer up to Rs 19,204 and then there's also a price cut of Rs 5,501, which is exactly what you get with Flipkart.
There are discounts available on other iPhone variants. Flipkart is offering iPhone 6s at a discounted price of Rs 35,999 after a price cut of Rs 10,901. Amazon India also has the same deal on the iPhone 6s. The flagship iPhone 7 too has been given some discounts. Flipkart is offering a discount of Rs 13,201 and after the offer the phone is available at Rs 42,999. The offer is valid only for the 32GB variant of the phone. Again, like the iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 is available offer on both Flipkart and Amazon is the same.
scenario is a little different with iPhone 7 Plus. Flipkart is offering the iPhone 7 Plus -- 32GB variant -- at a flat discount of Rs 10,301, after which the handset is available at Rs 56,999. While on the Amazon, the iPhone 7 Plus is available at Rs 61,499 after the discount. Apart from the 32GB variant, Flipkart is also offering the 256GB variant of the iPhone 7 Plus with a flat price cut of Rs 12,401. After the discount iPhone 7 Plus (256GB) is available at Rs 72,999. It was originally priced at 85,400.
iPhone SE, 32GB variant, is selling at Rs 19,999 after a price cut of up to Rs 6000 on Amazon. However, on the other hand, the Flipkart is offering the iPhone SE at 24,499. The phone is originally priced at Rs 26,000.

Deals on Google Pixel and Pixel XL

But Google's last year's Pixel phones are also available on discount. Flipkart is offering the Google Pixel (32GB) -- Very Silver and Quite Black colour variant at 24 per cent discount http://fkrt.it/t183S!NNNN. After the discount, Flipkart is selling Google Pixel at a price of Rs 43,000, which was originally priced at Rs 57,000. On the other hand, the 128GB variant of the Google Pixel gets a discount of 27 per cent, which cuts down the price of the phone to Rs 47,999. Apart from these price cuts, both the mentioned variants of the Pixel phone can gets up to Rs 15,600 off on exchange during the Flipkart Big Freedom Day sale. On the other hand, Amazon is offering Google Pixel at Rs 48,990 after a 27 per cent discount and extra Rs 3000 off on exchange offer. In other words, Flipkart has better deals on the Google Pixel right now.

While the 128GB variant of the Pixel XL gets a discount of 23 per cent. After the discount the phone is available at Rs 57,999. The original price of the handset was 76,000.

Offers on Samsung phones

Offer: Amazon India is offering up to Rs 1400 off on Samsung phones. On the other hand, Flipkart is offering up to Rs 3,000 off on the almost the same phones http://fkrt.it/t6FXK!NNNN. Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro is selling at a deal price of Rs 6,990 on Amazon. It is with a discount of Rs 1,000 and also an exchange offer of up to Rs 6,250 is available for it. While, Flipkart is offering a flat discount of Rs 2,300 on this phone, so the finally price here is now Rs 6,690.
Samsung's On Nxt - 32GB and 64GB variant gets up to Rs 3,000 flat discount on Flipkart. After the offer the On Next (32GB) is available at Rs 12,900, while the 64GB variant is available at Rs 14,900. The smartphone also gets up to Rs 14,000 of exchange price offer. The deal is the same on Amazon.
Also Samsung's On8 is available at an exchange price of Rs 11,000. The smartphone is also available at a price with discount of 11 per cent. After the discount, Samsung's On8 is available at Rs 11,990, which was originally priced at Rs 13,490. Amazon takes a leads here, it is selling the Galaxy On8 at Rs 10,990 after a price cut of Rs 2,500. There are other Samsung phones -- Samsung On Max, J3 Pro, On7, J5 and J6 -- that are also available with some offers on both Flipkart and Amazon.

Discounts on Xiaomi phones

Fast selling and highly demand mobile Redmi Note 4 for the "first ever time" is available under an offer on Flipkart http://fkrt.it/tRl1S!NNNN. Redmi Note 4 is available with the usual exchange offer, but today's special is additional Rs 1,000 off on exchange value. This offer is limited to the Big Freedom Day Sale only. Further Flipkart is offering up to Rs 12,000 exchange offer on Redmi Note 4 64GB/4GB RAM variant, the 32GB/3GB RAM storage version of the phone will be available at an exchange offer of Rs 10,000. While the 32GB/2GB RAM variant of the Redmi Note 4 will be available an exchange off of Rs 9,000. There are no offers no Redmi Note 4 on Amazon. However, Redmi 4A will be on a flash sale as usual.

Offers on Moto phones

Offer: Amazon India is offering up to Rs 2,000 discount on Motorola phones, while Flipkart is offering Rs 3,000 on the same Moto phones http://fkrt.it/gogqFTuuuN. Lenovo's Moto G5 Plus - 32GB and 16GB variant are also on sale. The 32GB variant is available at a discount of 11 per cent, after which the phone is now available at Rs 14,999, which is originally priced at Rs 16,999. Both the 32GB and 16GB variants of the phone are available at an exchange offer of Rs 14,000. This is the Flipkart deal. While, on Amazon, Moto G5 Plus is available at Rs 14,999. The handset is available at an exchange offer of Rs 13,433.

Other deals to look for

Flipkart is offering up to Rs 3,000 off on Motorola while Amazon is offering Rs 2000 off. Flipkart is also offering Rs 3,000 off on Oppo and Vivo phones as well. While Amazon India is offering 15 per cent off on Coolpad phones, 7 per cent on phones from InFocus. While, Flipkart is offering Xiaomi phones at a price cut of Rs 1,000. The biggest offer is available in Apple's iPhone. Flipkart is offering up to Rs 13,991 off on iPhones, while Amazon is offering 35 per cent off of the same phones. While, Lenovo phones get a price cut of Rs 4,500 on Flipkart. While on Amazon, Lenovo phones get a price cut of Rs 5,000.
Amazon is also offering discounts on some of the recently announced phones - BlackBerry KEYone and OnePlus 5. The e-commerce site is offering is available at Rs 39,990 on the sale, while the original price of the device is Rs 42,990. The offer is a limited one though. There is also an exchange offer available of up to Rs 19,204 on the BlackBerry KEYone. Amazon is selling the OnePlus 5 at an exchange offer of up to Rs 20,000.
